The Porc d’Or Ibérico Awards have established themselves as the highest recognition of excellence in the Iberian pork production sector. Held annually, these awards highlight best practices, innovation, and commitment to quality on Iberian pig farms in Spain.

Guijuelo, Epicenter of Iberian Pork

The 9th edition of the Porc d’Or Ibérico Awards, which will be held on June 13 in Guijuelo, Salamanca, underscores the importance of this town as one of the nerve centers of Iberian pork. Guijuelo, known for its tradition and quality in the production of Iberian ham, is the perfect setting to recognize the best in the sector.

The main objective of the Porc d’Or Ibérico Awards is to recognize the professionalism and hard work of Iberian pig farms that stand out for their productivity, health, animal welfare, and sustainability. The gala, organized by IRTA in collaboration with ASICI and Ceva Salud Animal, brings together more than 400 industry professionals, consolidating its position as a key meeting place and reference.

Categories and Awards

This year, the awards are divided into three categories based on the size of the participating farms. Within each category, gold, silver, and bronze awards are given to the best farms based on key indicators such as productive longevity, farrowing rate, and live births. In total, 32 awards will be presented, recognizing diversity and excellence in Iberian pork production.
