Solgepan Group launches Tabernnus, its new brand of Iberian ham and tapas
The chain seeks to expand both nationally and internationally by focusing on the quality of its products. The Solgepan Group, recognized for its chain of coffee shops and bakeries Pannus Café, is launching its new hospitality brand, Tabernnus, focused on Iberian ham and tapas. With five locations in operation, two of them established in Barcelona and Zaragoza under the franchise model, the brand is in the process of expanding both nationally and internationally.
Sergio Llarás, CEO of the Solgepan Group, explains the decision to expand its business portfolio through Tabernnus with the aim of offering high-quality Iberian ham to a wider audience. The gastronomic offering, based on Iberian ham, ranges from sandwiches to gourmet tapas, such as croquettes. To guarantee quality, Tabernnus has selected a ham supplier with the Protected Designation of Origin Los Pedroches, in Extremadura.
The brand also offers a variety of options for breakfast and snacks. After two years of development, the first Tabernnus location opened its doors in Barcelona, on Portaferrissa Street. The investment for this establishment reached €240,000. Tabernnus also has a location in the Zaragoza Delicias AVE train station and is planning a new opening in Cádiz.
The growth plan includes various sectors and locations in Spain, in busy streets, shopping centers, and travel areas, such as its location at Barcelona Airport. International expansion is already underway, with a particular focus on the United States.
Regarding job creation, the CEO of Grupo Solgepan highlighted the promotion of internal staff and the hiring of new employees thanks to the launch of the new brand. He also emphasized the value for the company of developing and growing with its own capital. Although they have received offers from investment funds, for the time being they prefer to rely on their own resources to grow.
Thus, Grupo Solgepan is advancing on its path toward business diversification, adapting to market demands and focusing on quality with its new brand, Tabernnus.
